Flame On

I find that as I look back over the night, the overall theme was "fire." I went out to dinner with the parents and got Rigatoni Arrabiata. For you non-Italians, arrabiata is a spicy tomato based sauce, traditionally made with strips of pancetta and lots of peppers and tomatoes. This was by far the spiciest I had ever had, and it rivaled some of the fiercest burritos ever to battle my esophagus. This sauce tore me up, and I still have heartburn as I type this.

Then, in keeping with the fire theme I had Mike, Nicole, Perri, Phil, Ben, J No, Carly, (C)Ilya, and Perri's brother over for a "smores" and firepit get-together. Big news from the night includes:

1. Phil successfully attending a fire at my house without blowing up a can of spray-deodorant.
2. Carly's brother Jake, whom I am raising to accomplish my failed high school goals, hung out with the girl I wanted to set him up with and she broke up with her boyfriend while he was there. He said it was because of "problems" but we all know she just wants it from Jake so much more. Good kid, he'll make me proud...

We roasted marshmellows, quoted The Sandlot, listened to a retarded variety of music (from Ray J to Dave Matthews Band) and told our favorite offensive jokes. I lead an incredibly exciting life, be jealous...

NOTE: My birthday was over 5 weeks ago and Carly still hasn't given me the Part B of my gift that she promised me. I'm assuming she's waiting for her boyfriend to go out of town...or for it to come in the mail. Either one is fine by me.
